This fall has quite a collection of awesome movies waiting to be released. We saw the trailer for Frankenweenie over this summer and my kids (age 9-17) were totally smitten with it. This is Tim Burton’s third animated movie to be released for the Halloween season, and I have to admit, this one looks to be the most entertaining of all thus far! Frankenweenie tells the story of Victor, who after unexpectedly losing his beloved dog, harnesses the power of science to bring his best friend back to life—with just a few minor “adjustments.” He tries to hide his home-sewn Frankenstein-like creation, but when Sparky gets out, Victor’s community soon learns that getting a new “leash on life” can be monstrous.
These free printable activities celebrate the upcoming release of the movie on October 5th, and are perfect for any Halloween parties you may be having! They are also great as just-for-fun rainy day activities, too. I was thinking about drawing up some coloring pages of the wonderfully creepy characters in this movie, until I realized that the entire film is shot/animated in black and white! That’s SO unusual for a kid’s movie, I will be very interested in seeing what people think of this format. The artistic side of me is all for it – what do you think?
