I decided to put together some Disney Christmas coloring pages after the runaway success of our Disney pumpkin stencils this Halloween. They were a lot more time consuming to make than I anticipated (I started them yesterday!). But I think they were totally worth it. Disney at Christmastime is such a magical place – and their characters sure know how to bring it during the holidays!

The Grinch is absolutely one of my favorite Christmas TV specials. The other day my husband even made fun of me because I turned it on – after the kids had already gone to bed! It’s been a long time since I’ve been able to draw up a new set of coloring pages for Cartoon Jr., so these Grinch coloring pages are just as much of a treat for me as they are for you!

Monster High Coloring Pages

We were in Toys R Us this week for my daughter’s birthday, and I (unsurprisingly) found myself in the doll section of the store. When I saw these new Monster High Dolls, I flipped! They are completely adorable! And so creative and original – it’s like Bratz Dolls meets Halloween monsters! The Monster High website is extremely clever, too; each Monster High character has their own bio page, including their own “Freaky Flaws”. Clawdeen Wolf’s is “My hair is worthy of a shampoo commercial, and that’s what just grows on my legs!” I fell off my chair laughing!

I’m a huge fan of reviving vintage cartoons, and recently the 80′s classic Jem and The Holograms is getting new attention. October 11, the entire 65 episodes are being released on DVD – or you can grab the more modestly priced Season 1 instead. To celebrate the launch, Hasbro & their partners have created 3 new Jem coloring pages that I get to share with you!

The Lion King: Early Character Sketches and Storyboard Art

Simba, Timon and Pumba Early Color Storyboard

I am always thrilled when Disney releases early concept art like this to promote their new releases!! The Lion King (now in 3D!) is coming out this Friday September 16 for only two weeks in theaters, then after that will be released on DVD October 4th.

This Disney movie holds a special place in my heart – it was first released in 1994, the same year I first became a mom. Plus, the Lion King story is just so moving and wonderful – classic Disney storytelling at its finest. I’ve been given permission to post these amazing early sketches when they were developing the Lion King characters, storyboard, and poster art. Enjoy!

How to Draw Bambi and Thumper

Bambi has always been one of my absolute favorite Disney characters, and I am beyond excited that it is coming out on a special edition DVD this week! I’m totally buying it. Disney has provided me with these incredible printables to pass along to you to commemorate the DVD release. Here are diagrams on how to draw Bambi and Thumper, his adorable bunny sidekick. There are also two printable picture frames for little artists to feature their work!

Cars 2 Trailer and Pictures

Woo hoo! Pixar has just released the Cars 2 trailer along with new pictures from the movie! I always have high expectations of Pixar movies, and they always deliver. My dirty little secret is that I wasn’t a huge fan of the first Cars movie. I’m hoping they do a better job on the second installment, because I think Monsters Inc. definitely deserves a sequel more than Cars does! Here’s the synopsis of Cars 2:

“Star racecar Lightning McQueen and tow truck Mater take their friendship to exciting new places in “Cars 2” when they head overseas to compete in the first-ever World Grand Prix, racing for the title of the world’s fastest car. But the road to the race detours when Mater gets caught up in international espionage. He finds himself torn between assisting Lightning McQueen and towing the line in a top-secret mission. Mater’s journey leads him on an explosive chase through the streets of Japan and Europe, trailed by his friends and watched by the whole world. The fast-paced fun includes a colorful new all-car cast, complete with menacing villains and international racing competitors.”

Voice talent appearing in the movie include Owen Wilson, Larry the Cable Guy, Michael Caine, Cheech Marin and Pixar mainstay Bonnie Hunt.

Angry Birds Coloring Pages

My kids LOVE the Angry Birds game. I haven’t played it yet, only because I know I’ll get addicted and never want to stop! It’s been such a huge hit on the iPad/iPhone that it’s now evolved into a game for Windows and Mac, and even the PlayStation. I hear they may even turn it into a TV show or movie! I have to say the idea of a show about angry birds just sounds too funny – I bet whatever they do with such a great idea is bound to be good.

I know it’s been a while since I’ve added coloring pages here. I made the mistake of letting my kids play with my drawing tablet on my computer. Now that I have *ahem* replaced it, I’m drawing them again and we’re back in action!
